BCIT supports a population of over 15,000 full time staff and students. Institutions of this size face the same environmental challenges as a small city, and as those populations grow, so do the stresses on transportation, power and waste management systems.

By employing new ideas and technologies, increasing student and staff awareness, and incorporating personal incentives for environmentally responsible behaviors, we will be able to successfully meet these challenges, and create a sustainable campus environment.

For information about our guiding principles, read BCIT’s Environmental Policy [PDF].
