Car rentals

When renting a vehicle on BCIT’s behalf, the following would apply:

  • Where possible, the rental should be from the BCIT contracted rental agency.
  • Additional Third-party Liability should be waived in BC as all rental agencies include 2 million or more. For out-of-province or country, third-party liability should be purchased (two million, if possible) if not already included in the basic rental. Any claims in excess of two million will be covered under the BCIT self-insurance program.
  • Personal Injury Insurance should be waived as WCB coverage is in place. If one is absent from the province for more than six months, then it should be purchased.
