Enter the document type “REQ”, press TAB, then enter the requisition. Use NEXT BLOCK.

FOIDOCH Status Indicators
A requisition/PO document is approved
C requisition/PO/receiving document is completed but not yet approved

S document is in suspense (usually this indicates that there is a problem
O document is open
X document has been cancelled
V document has been voided
H invoice is manually set on hold (as determined by AP)

In Banner, in the direct access field, type in FOIDOCH, press ENTER.
Enter the document type “REQ”, press TAB, then enter the Requisition. Use NEXT BLOCK.

To see details of a requisition, click on the requisition number then click on Requisition Info (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). Use NEXT BLOCK or the links on the left-hand side to navigate the requisition.
To determine the buyer for a particular item (Banner assigns requisitions by item, not by the whole requisition), go to the Commodity/Accounting Information (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). This will show you the assigned buyer as well as the PO number, if a PO has been assigned.
UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW will allow you to review all line items.
It is most likely is that your requisition has not been entered into Banner – it may be in transit or awaiting entry into Banner, however, confirm you are entering the document code correctly, complete with the “R” prefix. If this is not the problem, your requisition may have been entered with a letter at the end (example: R123456A or R123456B)-this may be due to duplicate requisition numbers or if Purchasing needs to re-enter the requisition.
- Note: The document code for a PO number is a letter “P” followed by 7 numbers (example: P0012345, not PO012345, not POO12345).
- The document code for a requisition is a letter “R” followed by 6 numbers (example: R123456). The requisition may have a letter at the end (example: R123456A or R123456B)-this may be due to duplicate requisition numbers or if Purchasing needs to re-enter the requisition.
In Banner, in the direct access field, type in FOIDOCH, press ENTER.
- Enter the document type “REQ”, press TAB, then use the FLASHLIGHT button. Press ENTER QUERY.
- If you know the requester’s name, TAB to that field and enter it
- Note: this field is case-sensitive;
- Hint: use wild cards: %.
- If you know the request date,
- TAB to that field and enter the date.
- You must enter the date in the following format: DD-MMM-YYYY; you may enter partial dates (example: “%MAY-2003”) or greater than/less than ranges (example: “>01-MAY-2003” or “<01-MAY-2003”).
- If you know the organization code, TAB to that field and enter the organization code.
- Once you entered your search criteria, press EXECUTE QUERY.
- If you find the requisition you were looking for, you can double-click the requisition number to return this number to FOIDOCH and continue with your inquiry.

To see details of a PO, click on a PO number then click on Purchase Order Information (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). Use NEXT BLOCK or the links on the left-hand side to navigate the PO.
If the status indicator for the PO is blank, the PO is in process and has not been forwarded to the vendor.
Use UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to scroll through the list of items. Line items may have additional text in Item Text (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)).
To verify that a PO was charged to the right index/account, navigate to the Commodity/Accounting Information screen (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). The bottom half of the screen displays the FOAPAL(s) for the yellow-highlighted line item on the top half of the screen. Use UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to scroll through the list of items.

To see details of a receiving document, click on an receiving number, then click on Receiver Information (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). Use NEXT BLOCK or the links on the left-hand side to navigate the receiving document.

Enter the document type “REQ” or “PO”, press TAB, then enter the Requisition or PO number. Use NEXT BLOCK.

If an invoice has been entered, the number will show in the Invoice block. If no invoice number shows, an invoice hasn’t been entered by AP and you cannot tell when a check will be cut.
To see details of an invoice, click on an invoice number, then click on Invoice Information (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)). Use NEXT BLOCK or the links on the left-hand side to navigate the invoice.
The first screen will show you pertinent dates: the vendor’s invoice date shows in the Invoice Date: field. The date the invoice was entered into the system shows in the Transaction Date field. The date the check will be cut shows in the Payment Due field.
The second screen shows you what items on the PO have been paid with this invoice (you may need to use your UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to scroll through the list of items).
To see the accounting distributions, navigate to the Accounting Amounts block, then click on the Accounting Distributions button.
Our internal invoice number shows in the Document Number field; the vendor’s invoice number shows in the Vendor’s Invoice Code: field.

If a check has been cut, it will show in the Check block of the form.
To see details of a check, click on a check number, then click on Check Information (in the Options Sidebar (on the left-hand side)) then enter the bank code as follows: “08” for Canadian funds or “07” for US funds. Use NEXT BLOCK.
The check information should show on your screen. Our internal invoice number shows in the Document Number field; the vendor’s invoice number shows in the Vendor’s Invoice Code field.
In Banner, in the direct access field, type in FWIVNDH, press ENTER.
Enter the vendor ID (see How Do I Find a Vendor ID, if you don’t know it). Click in the Selection field to choose All, Open, or Paid invoices, or Credit Memos. Use NEXT BLOCK.
Use the vertical scroll bars to view all transactions. Use the horizontal scroll bars to see more detail.
In Banner, in the direct access field, type in FWIRECH, press ENTER.
Enter the PO number. Use NEXT BLOCK.
This screen should display line item information. To see receiving particulars for a particular line item, highlight that item and use NEXT BLOCK.
If you don’t know the PO number see: Tracking Your Purchase Requisition in Banner above, for instructions on to use FOIDOCH to find a PO number.
For many Purchasing and AP forms, you need to know the vendor ID (example: FWIVNDH or FPIOPOV).
To find a vendor number, click on the Vendor: field and use LIST OF VALUES or click on the FLASHLIGHT button. In the Entity Name/ID Search Form, TAB to the Last Name field. Type in the beginning part of the vendor name, followed by a percent sign (Note: the search is case-sensitive!). Use EXECUTE QUERY or click on the FLASHLIGHT button. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys or the scroll bars to view all records. If the vendor shows up, you can double-click on the vendor number to return the number to your original form. If the vendor doesn’t show up, use ENTER QUERY to start a new search.
Make sure you type the name in mixed case. You may also try to type in less of the name. Then follow the directions again.
Most often, when you click on a link in the Options frame and it brings you somewhere you’ve never been before, you’ve gone to a new form. To get back, use EXIT.
If you clicked on the FLASHLIGHT icon, this brought you to a search form-if you didn’t want to go there, or couldn’t find what you were looking for, use EXIT (sometimes you may have to exit twice-once to exit the query, then again to exit the form).
