The course will introduce learners to the fundamentals of growing an existing business in Canada. Topics will include strategic options for growth, estimating revenue and costs associated with growth, special considerations involved in growing a family business and environmental factors influencing growth capabilities and avenues for expanding Canadian companies.
Students who have received credit for MKTG 3345 New Venture Creation are not eligible to take this course. There is no textbook for this course. BBA students can use this course to fulfill 3 credits of their Social Science or Unspecified General Education requirement.

Students are permitted to register up until the first week without approval. This is not a self-paced course. You will be expected to be available and online on the posted days and times shown on your registration schedule. It is important you have a stable and consistent internet connection to access course content. Course content, type and quality of assignments, and general standards for this online course are the same as classroom courses. To be successful in this online course, plan to spend 7-10 hours per week on your studies, or more for a condensed course, starting Week 1. Prepare a plan for growth of a business
Analyse and describe resource requirements for a growing business
Analyse and describe environmental factors influencing company growth capabilities
Assess the pros and cons of various strategic options for growth of an expanding business
Assess pre-growth considerations such as the amount of financing required and the stage of development of the business seeking to expand
