To support you and your education, BCIT is adapting applied learning in formats
appropriate to the unfolding global situation. Spring PTS classes are commencing with
learning delivered in an online format.
The Event Industry Practicum is designed to provide students with a work experience position in the event management industry. On-the-job performance is fully evaluated by the employer as well as self-reflection and practical application of acquired knowledge and skills. Students will work up to 4 days per week for 12 weeks with an approved event management organization (the minimum required will be 200 hours during the Practicum).

Upon successful completion of this course, the stdudent will be able to:
Explore corporate culture and the professionalism expected in the event industry.
Apply event management knowledge to assist an organization in successfully producing an event or implementing an event marketing or promotional plan.
Create professional networks to advance the career as an event manager.
