Course Details

Examines how the operating environment affects trade and trading relationships. The course of studies covers topics related to the location of markets, the infrastructure necessary for a successful market, current trade patterns and future trends in trading. Emphasis will be placed on explanations of how the operating environments affect production, transportation and marketing.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Articulate the changing demographics of the global economy.
  • Clarify and explain Driving factors for globalization.
  • Classify political system and the determinants of economic development.
  • Evaluate values and ethical systems and workplace cultural change.
  • Document ethical issues in international business and philosophical approaches to ethics.
  • Define trade theories, instruments of trade policy, development of the world trading system and understand impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the world economy.
  • Apply theoretical concepts of regional economic integration and functions of the foreign exchange market.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of economic theories of exchange rate determination.
  • Investigate different modes to enter a foreign market, brands and market segmentation, global production strategy and logistics.
  • Define strategic role of international Human Resources Management.
