Course Details

As a requirement of the Gas Safety Regulation and recognized by the Provincial Gas Safety Manager this course prepares students to write the examination to qualify for the Gas Fitter B Certificate of Qualification. A mandatory 7 day practical component is included in the tuition and is offered at the end of the theory component. For examination fee information please visit the BC Safety Authority website.


Registrant is the holder of an industry training credential in plumbing, steam fitting, refrigeration or sprinkler fitting.

  1. Internet delivery format.
  2. Online course. Prerequisite: TQ in Plumbing, Pipefitting, or Refrigeration. A week-long practical component scheduled after the online course must be completed before students can take the BC Safety Authority “B” Gas Certificate of Qualification exam. The cost of the practical component is included in the tuition. Students will participate online Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please note that course materials must be ordered from the BCIT Bookstore after registration. More information at or phone 604-432-8379.
