Part-time Studies Course
This course is key to Supply Chain Management. It covers the purchasing role in implementing best value sources of goods and services as well as developing interlock with key stakeholders and decision makers. The student will learn and apply concepts in category management, strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, structured negotiations, supplier performance management, leadership and change management. The focus of the learning competencies is to increase the purchasing role contribution to bottom-line profitability and industry competitiveness.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will have competencies in demonstrating the following core Purchasing related activities:
Support purchasing’s role in identifying best value sources of goods and services.
Source, evaluate, develop and sustain critical supply partners across the value chain.
Evaluate the "power" of buyers vs. suppliers.
Differentiate between competitive bidding methodologies, including legal implications of the procurement process.
Apply up-to-date best-practices in developing sourcing strategies.
Utilize a structured approach to drive leverage and negotiate with complex mega suppliers.
Employ a change management process to obtaining successful stakeholder buy-in.
Measure real and tangible results that contribute to shareholder value.
