This course presents theory related to potential hazards found in various work settings. It focuses on the industrial hygiene principles and practices of anticipating, recognizing, and evaluating biological, chemical, and physical hazards. The course emphasizes a collaborative approach to eliminating or controlling these hazards, whether the occupational health nurse is a member of a team of one or more Occupational Health and Safety practitioners or is the only on-site practitioner with knowledge and skills in industrial hygiene.
