Familiarize students with the safe use of electrical test equipment (multimeter, megger, growler and tong tester) and to identify and rectify common faults on electrical machinery i.e. single phase, earth, short circuit, power supply fail, main and auxiliary contactors. The learner would also be introduced to basic electrical theory to understand the function of speed control, voltage regulation, and load sharing while putting generators in parallel and use the engine simulator to practice paralling of generators. Students would be evaluated by their diagnostic report on a defective motor and their ability in putting generators in parallel on the simulator.
