Course Details

Students will focus on advanced Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) techniques and will build upon the skills learned in MDIA 3201 (Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This course explores advanced page layout functions, floats, responsive design techniques, how to apply curves to box corners, learning the shorthand properties to minimize your CSS file length, how to deal with browser bugs and designing for a variety of media types.

Learning Outcomes

Upon succesful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Employ advanced page layout functions
  • Apply curves to box corners
  • Group and nest CSS
  • Use the shorthand properties of CSS
  • Work around browser bugs
  • Predict how a browser will deal with conflicting CSS rules
  • Write CSS for handheld devices
  • Employ responsive design techniques
