Investigates the operation and application of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to manufacturing industries. Programming of CNC milling machines and lathes using manual and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) methods will be studied.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Prepare programs for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools using manual programming methods.
Verify program functionality and accuracy using graphics based numerical control program verification software.
Prepare CNC programs for a machining center using Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
Participate in the set up and operation of a CNC machining center.
Investigate the relationship between CAD and CAM and perform the transfer of data between the design and the manufacturing functions.
