Course Details

Focuses on advanced G-code programming. Includes production milling and turning. Study manufacturing process design, job estimate and cost analysis. Canned cycles and macro programming, production fixture design and tooling. Practical projects on CNC lathe and milling machine. Introduce multiaxis machining and Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software.

  1. Departmental approval needed
  2. Students registered in MACH 1130 CNC Operator Level 1 in the Fall 2018 Term are pre-approved to register into MACH 1131 CNC Operator Level 2 and MACH 1132 CNC Operator Level 3 in the same term. If not pre-approved, prospective students must contact Marte Arreola at 604-432-8477 for approval to register. Textbook/Manuals Required: CNC Programming Handbook", Author: Peter Smid, 2008. Lathe Operators Manual and Milling Operators Manual (HAAS). Note: BCIT reserves the right to cancel courses. In the event of a part-time studies course cancellation, you will be notified at least two business days prior to the course start. Please ensure that your contact information is current. Upon successful completion of the following three courses, MACH 1130, MACH 1131 and MACH 1132, a statement of completion will be issued.
