Covers advanced topics in industrial pneumatics controls using pneumatic only solutions, such as air logic and cascade circuits, and electro-pneumatics systems. The course delivery combines practical exercises with discussions of typical industrial applications and lectures.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Describe safety considerations for industrial pneumatic circuits.
Calculate forces delivered by pneumatic cylinders.
Describe effects of first, second, and third class lever mounting on cylinder forces.
Calculate air flow requirements for pneumatic cylinders.
Interpret performance curves for directional control valves.
Describe electrical switches, solenoids and relays used in pneumatic circuits.
Analyse and troubleshoot simple pneumatic circuits.
Develop, assemble and test industrial pneumatic control circuits.
