Course Details

This course examines the changing global nature of the food industry from dietary concerns to climate change and the effects on food security. It also examines waste management and the reduction of the global footprint of food companies.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Apply the principles of ISO 14000 to waste management.
  • Apply strategies to manage waste and reduce the environmental footprint, such as “zero emissions”.
  • Analyse the issues around food security.
  • Apply techniques for energy reduction and conservation to improve business efficiencies.
