This course continues from Comp 2374, Microsoft Access, and covers the process of designing applications through the use of basic macros and VBA programming to build an effective database management system. Students will create basic macros in Access, and then progress to the fundamentals of VBA programming within the application. Participants will understand how to create sub procedures, functions, control structures and error handling procedures. Introduction to SQL and ADO objects and methods will also be discussed to enable students to manipulate data using recordsets. By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to enhance productivity with custom Access functions and routine task automation. COMP 2375 will be offered once a year in the fall term.
COMP 2374 or equivalent knowledge of MS Access.
