CIVL 2131 - Civil Project Scheduling

Civil Engineering Part-time Studies Course

School of Construction and the Environment

Course Details

Covers the planning, scheduling, resource allocation and management of civil engineering projects. Students will develop scheduling scenarios based on productivity rates, crew sizes, and duration of construction activities. Various scheduling techniques including the Critical Path Method principles will be discussed in the course.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:

  • Use scheduling techniques and CPM principles to derive and manipulate Gantt charts, activity -on-arrow diagrams, activity-on-node diagrams, and time-logic diagrams.
  • Comprehend and discuss basic project and construction management techniques, cost control, and site documentation.
