Course Details

This course provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge necessary to implement a core Windows Server infrastructure in an existing enterprise environment. Topics include the initial implementation and configuration of core services, such as Networking, Storage, Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Group Policy, File and Print services, and Hyper-V. This course maps to the 70-410 exam Installing & Configuring Windows Server 2012. It is recommended that students have experience with the configuration of Microsoft client platforms prior to attending this course. Students must have access to a Windows based multi-media computer.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Deploy Domain Name Services (DNS) using Server 2012.
  • Activate Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) services using Server 2012.
  • Describe and activate network services for Microsoft based internetworks.
  • Activate Network Address Translation (NAT) using Server 2012.
  • Describe basic network security and certificate services.
  • Load and configure Server 2012 operating systems.
  • Activate various server roles.
  • Create and configure Active Directory (AD) services.
  • Create users, computers, and organizational units within AD.
  • Configure IPv4 & IPv6 settings on Microsoft based devices.
  • Describe remote access methods used by Microsoft internetworks.
