This course introduces technologies that allow networks to scale. A review of switching technologies including VLANs, Dot1q, and inter-VLAN routing provides the foundation to explore spanning-tree and link-aggregation. A review of IPv4 and IPv6 routing fundamentals provides the foundation to explore Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing (EIGRP) routing protocols. The course provides insight into the deployment of wireless LANs within a campus. Included is a review of managing licensing and images. Participants are expected to have Cisco CCENT level knowledge and skill set. Students must have access to a Windows based multi-media computer.
No class on Saturday, October 6th (Thanksgiving Weekend) and Saturday, November 10th, (in lieu of Remembrance Day). Students MUST have successfully completed CITX 2060 - Cisco CCNA Level 2 in order to register for CITX 2061 - Cisco CCNA Level 3. No textbooks required. Students will have access to the Cisco NetAcadmy online study materials. Note: BCIT reserves the right to cancel courses.
