To support you and your education, BCIT is adapting applied learning in formats appropriate to the unfolding global situation. Spring and Summer PTS classes are being delivered in an online format unless you are notified otherwise.
This course introduces technologies that allow networks to scale. A review of switching technologies including VLANs, Dot1q, and inter-VLAN routing provides the foundation to explore spanning-tree and link-aggregation. A review of IPv4 and IPv6 routing fundamentals provides the foundation to explore Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing (EIGRP) routing protocols. The course provides insight into the deployment of wireless LANs within a campus. Included is a review of managing licensing and images. Participants are expected to have Cisco CCENT level knowledge and skill set. Students must have access to a Windows based multi-media computer.
The delivery format for this course has changed from in-person/in-class to ONLINE DELIVERY. No class on Monday, October 12th (Thanksgiving Day) and Wednesday, November 11th (Remembrance Day). Students MUST have successfully completed CITX 2060 - Cisco CCNA Level 2 in order to register for CITX 2061 - Cisco CCNA Level 3. No textbooks required. Students will have access to the Cisco Networking Academy online study materials. Departmental approval is required for this course. Please contact email@example.com for approval and include both the CRN (32617) and your BCIT Student ID. Note: BCIT reserves the right to cancel courses. In the event of a part-time studies course cancellation, you will be notified at least two business days prior to the course start. Please ensure that your contact information is current.

Describe and configure Per-VLAN Rapid STP (PVRSTP)
Describe and create Ether-Channels to facilitate link aggregation
Describe the integration of wireless access into a campus network
Implement OSPF in an enterprise system
Provide scalability in the routing domain by implementing Multi-Area OSPF
