BHSC 1119 is a general survey of basic human structure and function. It may serve as an overview for those wishing some fundamental insights into anatomy and physiology, or as the foundation on which further study can build. The course initially establishes the basics of cells and tissues, and then goes on to survey the body’s major organ systems.

  2. This course is designed for students who wish to graduate from the Cardiology Diploma. It is not accepted as a prerequisite for Nursing. Students who live within the Greater Vancouver Region (Squamish to Abbotsford) must write exams at the BCIT Burnaby Campus on dates specified by instructor. Students outside the Greater Vancouver Region must find a proctor at an accredited post-secondary institution or Test Centre. Follow up instructions will be e-mailed after registering. Late registration may be considered if seats are available. Email leesa_watt@bcit.ca with the following information before the end of 1st week..   • Describe the functional capacity or functions of the human body systems.
