Airport Operations Part-time Studies Course

Course Details

In this course, students will write academic, technical and business documents typical of airport operations environment. In addition, you will further develop the skills of researching, organizing, sequencing and producing internal and external correspondence, manuals and reports in an airport environment.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course the student will be able to:

  • Identify the process and techniques of academic, technical and business writing.
  • Apply a code of ethics in writing technical documents in an airport.
  • Organize information for writing basic documents required in an airport environment.
  • Produce academic, technical and business documents related to airport operations.
  • Identify common patterns for organizing general correspondence such as letters, memos and emails.
  • Describe the basic components of an operations or user manual for an airport environment.
  • Explain how to issue a NOTAM pursuant to Transport Canada (TP 973E).
