Combining understanding of the basic chemistry of the lead acid battery along with the application of magnetic principles used in motor and generator operation enables fundamental understanding upon which a technician can apply an effective starting and charging system diagnostic strategy. In addition to the 24 hours of instructor guided course delivery, each week students are assigned approximately 5 additional hours of self-paced online interactive knowledge building assignments.
Successful completion of any one of the following: AUTO 1175 or AUTO 0173 Electrical and Electronic Diagnostic Fundamentals; Level 1 Automotive Foundation Certificate; Level 1 Automotive or Motorcycle Apprenticeship; ASTO 1027 or ASTO 1127 Basic Electrical Systems; AUTO 1503 or MPET 1208 Electrical or Electronic Systems.
