Formerly AVAO1150. The course focuses on the airport as an essential part of the air transport system. This course provides an overview of various airport departments, examines the regulatory requirements, and covers the operational and management services of both large and small airports.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Differentiate between the various types of airport ownerships and operations.
Explain the size and scope of the airport system.
Compare classifications of airports in the U.S. and Canada.
Describe the aeronautical facilities of a typical airport.
Identify the economic role and impact of airports in a nation/region/community.
Differentiate between various roles airports play in the community.
Outline the developments/issues facing airports in the next decade.
