TypeWell Transcribing - Quality Assurance for Transcribers
TypeWell Transcriber's Code of Ethics [PDF] lists professional behaviors that must be followed rigorously by every transcriber, and must be supported and required by every service coordinator, service agency and independent contractor.
Quality AssuranceThe transcriber will strive to continually improve his or her transcribing skills.
A transcriber’s goal is to provide the client with the best communication access possible. Please find outlined below a wealth of resources to assist you in reaching this essential goal.
Post-Secondary Communication Access Services (PCAS)PCAS provides qualifying transcribers with mentoring by experienced transcribers. This free service helps to hone new graduates' skills once the TypeWell training is completed. Receiving mentoring is an essential component in the transition from student to service provider. Typically, this involves transcribing two to three lectures followed by a comprehensive review of the transcript completed by the mentor. Those who complete this aspect of their training will have an advantage when looking for work as the completion of the mentoring program in addition to TypeWell training is quickly becoming the gold standard when hiring transcribers.
