Faculty & Staff :: Borrowing Materials
Your current BCIT Staff ID card entitles you to library borrowing privileges at all campus.
If you do not have a BCIT Staff ID card, you can obtain one from the Security Office. Cards are not transferable and it is your responsibility to notify the Library and Security of a lost or stolen card. Borrowers are responsible for all materials and equipment charged to their card. This responsibility includes proper care and control of items in their possession, and return of materials on or before the due date or established recall date.

It may be necessary to recall high demand items on a four week loan. You are assured a loan period of at least two weeks. If required, a recall notice will be sent, with the new due date.
Return of material
Material should be returned to the book return slot adjacent to the Service Desk at Burnaby or, after library hours, to one of the outside book drops. Material may be returned to any BCIT Campus library. Similar arrangements are available at BMC and ATC. Material may also be returned to the drop boxes located at AIC and DTC.
You will be invoiced for the full replacement cost of material overdue for a period of 30 days or more. A processing fee of $20.00 will be added to the replacement cost. Suspension of borrowing privileges commence as soon as material is overdue.
Lost or damaged material
In the event that material is lost or returned damaged, the full replacement value, together with a processing fee of $20.00, will be due and payable to the library.
Material from other BCIT Libraries can be sent to the Library of your choice for pick-up including AIC and DTC. Place a hold on the item you want and choose your pick-up location.
