Job boards specifically for BCIT students and alumni
Start any job search with BCIT eJobs and BCITSA Career Track. Both of these job boards are only available to BCIT students and alumni, which means that employers are specifically interested in hiring a BCIT student or alumni for the role.
Public job boards
There are a number of online job boards that are available to the general public. These are hosted by a particular government agency or private sector company and include jobs that employers may list usually for a small fee.
A good starting point would be the WorkBC Job Board and the Government of Canada Job Bank, which are both hosted by government agencies.
Beyond those, there are job boards hosted by private sector companies. While many Canadians make use of these types of job boards, it is very important to note that some of these boards have thousands upon thousands of jobs and employers making posts and so any particular job or employer that you find on there may not be verified. Therefore, it is important to exercise precaution and to be mindful that scams can and do happen. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! While many organizations post jobs on the job boards listed above, that is not always the case. Therefore, if you know that you may be interested in working for a particular type of organization, then it is always a good idea to visit that organization's website and look for any current employment or career opportunities that they may have to fill.
