Vacation

As part of a comprehensive Total Compensation Package, BCIT offers a competitive paid vacation package to eligible employees. Generally, vacation entitlements for Regular Full Time Employees are as follows:

BCGEU Support Staff:

0 – 2 completed years employment 15 paid vacation days
More than 3 years employment 20 paid vacation days plus yearly increases to a maximum of 35 days

BCGEU Vocational Instructors:

0-20 years employment 46 paid vacation days
More than 20 years employment 50 paid vacation days

Faculty and Staff Association:

Faculty:

0 – 20 years employment 43 paid vacation days
More than 20 years employment 47 paid vacation days

Assistant Instructors:

0 – 5 years employment 30 paid vacation days
6-16 years employment Additional yearly increase to maximum 40 days
More than 20 years employment 44 paid vacation days

Technical Staff:

0 -5 years employment 25 paid vacation days
6-16 years employment Additional yearly increase to maximum 35 days
More than 20 years employment 39 paid vacation days

Management:

0 – 5 years employment 25 paid vacation days
More than 5 years employment 30 paid vacation days plus extra days at specific anniversaries

NOTE:  Vacation entitlements for Part-Time Employees are prorated. Your Department's Attendance Keeper will have details regarding your specific personal entitlements. Temporary employees usually receive a percentage of vacation pay in lieu of vacation accrual. Please see the applicable collective agreement for its application to your employment status and situation.
