You're eligible to live in long-stay accommodation at Maquinna Residence if you've been accepted into a full-time BCIT (full time, cohort based, day time programs only) lasting 16 weeks or longer. You can request to live in an all-male, all-female, or co-ed suite, and also an academic/quiet or social/active suite.

There is an accessible suits available for students with disabilities. Please let us know if there are any related functional requirements that would assist us in the room assignment process on your application form.

First year students how to apply:

Once you’ve been accepted into a full-time program, you will be able to apply online for residence. The link to our online application form can be found in your acceptance letter on your my.bcit account under ‘my communications’. Scroll to the bottom of the acceptance letter and click on the link "BCIT Student Housing Information and Residence Application Form". Log in with your BCIT student number and password. If you have any difficulties accessing the form please contact us and be sure to include full name and BCIT student number.

Residence accommodation is limited and not guaranteed. The Maquinna Residence long-stay operation is geared primarily to students in programs running from September to May, however vacancies may occur throughout the year for those students whose programs start at other points in the year.

Deadline to apply for the fall term (September) is June 1st to be considered in the selection process. If you are accepted to your program after June 1st you may still apply to live in residence, however you will be added to our waitlist. Once your application is received by the Housing Office, you will receive an email confirming the status of your application.
