There is no fee to apply for housing at BCIT.
Housing fees include utilities (heat and electricity, etc.), a high speed internet connection in your bedroom, and basic cleaning services in the common areas (bathrooms, showers, living room, etc.)
Additional costs would be your food, laundry and the optional telephone and cable TV service in your bedroom should you choose to have these connected. There are coin operated laundry facilities in each house.
No, but each suite is equipped with a kitchen, including four refrigerators, two stoves and a microwave. There are a number of cafeterias on campus that are open seven days a week, but students are encouraged to prepare their own meals as each house is equipped with a full kitchen.
Your BCIT Student Housing contract is a month to month contract. This means you need to give one month’s notice, on the first day of a month, if you are going to vacate your room.
You can only live on-campus if you are attending classes full time. If you drop out or fail you will be required to move out. In this case you would not have to give one month’s notice to vacate.
Storage space is extremely limited so please plan to store all your belongings in your bedroom.
Bike storage is very limited so expect to keep your bike in your room if you decide to bring one.
Microwaves, fridges and stoves are supplied. You supply anything else you think you might need, like a kettle or toaster. But it’s always a good idea to wait until you get here and see if you can share with your housemates. Every suite doesn’t need 12 toasters!
