To help meet the high demand for skilled employees in the aerospace industry, BCIT received a $250,000 gift from TD Bank Financial Group towards the Aerospace Technology Campus (ATC) Capital Campaign.

$200,000 of the Bank's donation to BCIT will be used for advanced learning aids and technological enhancements at the ATC. It will ensure our students are ready to move directly from the classroom to the workforce, strengthening our regional economy and increasing Canada's competitive advantage in Aerospace.

$50,000 will go towards the TD Bank Financial Group Endowment in Aerospace. The fund will provide bursaries to qualified students enrolled in a full-time Aerospace program who need financial assistance.

"Few industries are more exciting than Aerospace and from the Canadarm to Marc Garneau, Canada is known for its contribution to the advancement of the aerospace industry," says Raymond Chun, Senior Vice President for TD Canada Trust, Pacific Region. "Canada is the world's fifth largest aerospace producer and we're proud to support tomorrow's aerospace workers with the financial assistance they need to succeed."

More than $10 million has been raised in support of the BCIT ATC Capital Campaign thus far, including pledges from six major Canadian banks in an outstanding example of what can be accomplished when Canada’s banks work together to support education.
