Ekaterina Tzekova

Prior to joining BCIT, Ekaterina was the Low Carbon Buildings Manager at TAF, an award-winning public agency, where she oversaw all components of TAF’s energy efficiency demonstration work. She has also worked for several building science consulting firms in Vancouver and Toronto.

Ekaterina has published and presented widely on topics related to sustainability, building energy performance, material durability, and indoor environmental comfort in North America (Building and Environment, CCBST, ASHRAE, Pushing the Envelope).


Ekaterina is a voting member on the National Research Council’s Canadian Commission on Construction Materials. She has also served as a guest lecturer and instructor for a number of programs at her alma mater, the University of Toronto, including the Building Science Certificate Program.
