Introduction to Forest Health Quantification with RPAS - Online Info Session
November 7, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm PST

Please join Dr. Eric Saczuk to learn more about the next offering of the Introduction to Forest Health Quantification with RPAS Microcredential starting November 14, 2022.
We will also share more information about the opportunity to save 67% on tuition and get a DJI Mini 2 drone while learning all about how RPAS are used in the forestry sector, limited to 24 seats.
Learn the theory and practical skills related to how Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS, also known as drones) are being used to quantitatively assess forest health using multi-spectral and thermal geospatial data. Gain knowledge and hands-on training about safe RPAS operations, mission planning, photogrammetric image processing and multi-layer GIS analysis for the purpose of quantifying variables related to the health of a forest stand.
Microcredentials bridge the skill gap. They are short, for-credit, modular programs or courses that help you quickly master new skills and gain knowledge essential in Canadian industries. Assessment is an integral component of these competency-based learning experiences, which can be combined towards credit for more comprehensive programs.
Courses include:
- Introduction to RPAS Safety and Transport Canada Certification
- Fundamentals of Relevant Sensors and Flight Planning
- Cloud-based Multi-spectral Image Processing for Forest Stand Health Assessment
- Timber Volume Quantification using Cloud-based Image Processing
