BCIT continues to monitor COVID-19

Updated: June 19, 2020 – 2:50 pm

An update from President Kathy Kinloch

In President Kathy Kinloch’s last planned video until August, she shares a recap of the academic year, an update on construction progress for the Health Sciences Centre, and a reminder of the graduation video celebration next Tuesday, June 23. She also introduces Mubasher Faruki, Associate Dean, Automotive, in BCIT’s School of Transportation.

Emergency Operations Centre

BCIT has activated our Emergency Operations Centre, consisting of a pan-institutional committee of staff and faculty from across the Institute. This committee includes senior representatives from every department at BCIT and reviews updates, contingency planning, and our day-to-day response to this situation.

Cleaning and social distancing

BCIT has increased the frequency of our cleaning services across all our campuses, including high-frequency areas such as classrooms and office areas. Some courses require on-campus learning in unique labs and shops. In these classes, we will practice social distancing of 2 metres as advised by the Provincial Health Officer and we will ensure increased frequency of cleaning services in these areas.
