Course Overview
The focus of this course is on the systems approach to airport master planning with emphasis on airfield planning, design and capacity. The following topics will be included: airfield planning, runway design, and airport capacity analysis.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the concepts and principles of the system approach for airfield planning.
- Read and interpret aviation forecasts.
- Explain the interaction of the airspace and air traffic control system with the ground facilities.
- Calculate runway capacity of given airport profiles.
- Identify relative advantages and disadvantages of the various terminal concepts.
- Analyze principles of airfield layout and runway capacity.
