Work Experience

Dr. Karimi is a structural engineer with 10 years of diverse experience encompassing design of residential, commercial and industrial buildings and infrastructure. He is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia, Canada (P.Eng.) and in the state of California, USA (P.E.). Kian has acted in the capacity of project engineer and project manager through all project phases from concept level planning to detailed design, cost estimate, tendering, contract administration and construction filed inspections.

Kian completed his Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Structural Engineering in 2011 at McMaster University, Canada where he also worked as a researcher on application of Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP) in upgrading structures and has co-authored several technical publications in peer-reviewed journals in this area. Prior to his Ph.D. studies, Kian completed a Master’s degree (M.A.Sc.) in the area of seismic engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran.
