APICS Certification

The BCIT School of Business partners with many professional associations to offer various educational professional development opportunities. BCIT and APICS have partnered to deliver courses in the following world-renowned certification programs. BCIT offers courses that help students prepare for the APIC certification exams. In addition, the courses can be used as credit towards the BCIT Materials Management Certificate.
APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
APICS CPIM certification may be right for you if you want to demonstrate professional knowledge in increasing an organization’s profitability by optimizing its production and inventory management within the “four walls” of the organization. APICS CSCP certification may be right for you if you want to demonstrate mastery of the extended supply chain, from the organization’s suppliers through to the end customer. The CSCP course covers topics that extend beyond the organization (e.g., globalization, IT in the supply chain, logistics, customer relations). APICS CLTD certification may be right for you if you want to demonstrate professional knowledge in logistics, transportation and distribution.

What is APICS?

APICS – is the worldwide premier professional association for supply chain management and the leading provider of research, education and certifications programs that elevate supply chain excellence, innovation and resilience. APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

The APICS CPIM certification program provides operations management professionals with in-depth knowledge and skills in production and inventory management. CPIM certification confirms mastery of the design, operations, and control systems to manufacture and distribute products and services. BCIT offers the following courses that lead to CPIM certification.

APICS has reconfigured the CPIM program and the original five exams will be replaced with two Part 1 and Part 2 exams. CPIM Part 1 covers Basics of Supply Chain Management. CPIM Part 2 covers the other four exam topics. Learn more about the exam changes and Production and Inventory Management.

APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

The APICS CSCP certification program provides operations management professionals with the knowledge and skills demanded of supply chain leaders in all sectors of the worldwide economy. The BCIT APIC 1191 course provides the student with an understanding of how to use the APICS CSCP learning system and prepare to write the APICS exam. The CSCP certification program teaches how to design a successful supply chain strategy, manage supplier and customer relationships, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational revenue. APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution Credential Program

APICS CLTD provides a comprehensive body of knowledge for understanding the logistics, transportation and distribution industries. The BCIT APIC 1181 course provides the student with an understanding of how to use the APICS Certified in logistics, transportation and distribution (CLTD) learning system. Topics of study include: strategy, best practices and standards, planning and network design, global logistics, exploration of transportation modes, and reverse logistics. In addition, the course helps the student prepare to write the CLTD exam offered by APICS. BCIT Materials Management – Certificate

Individuals that complete APICS course material can receive course credit towards their BCIT Certificate in Materials Management. The Materials Management program is completed on a part-time basis, making it the perfect way for you to further broaden your knowledge, skills, and abilities.
