Entrance Awards

Entrance awards are available through the BCIT Legion Program to support current and former Canadian Armed Forces members pursuing programs at BCIT.
Annual entrance awards include:

2 x $2,000 awards
$2,500 award

Eligibility:

You must be accepted into a certificate, diploma or degree program at BCIT
You must be registered in at least 12.0 credits for the upcoming term

How to apply:

Complete Form A Legion Program Award Application
Complete Form B Legion Program Entrance Award Application
Submit Form A and Form B to bcit_legion@bcit.ca. You may be asked to provide a copy of your MPRR.

Deadline to apply is August 31 or the next business day. If you are accepted to your program in the winter or spring semester, you can apply by August 31 of the same year you were accepted

Graduation Awards

Legion graduation awards are available to current and former Canadian Armed Forces members graduating from a BCIT program. Bursaries are awarded to outstanding students based on faculty nomination.

Annual graduation awards include:

2 x $2,000 awards
$2,500 award

Eligibility

You must be graduating from a certificate, diploma or degree program at BCIT
You must have held at least a 12.0 credit course load for the last two consecutive terms

How to apply:

You can provide the nomination form to your Program Head or Instructor. We may request a copy of your MPRR.

Nomination deadline is June 5 or the next business day. If you are graduating your program after the spring or fall semester, you may be considered for the following year application deadline.

Funding Support

Canadian Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Services

If you are a client of CVVRS, our program can assist with the upfront cost of part-time course registration and books at BCIT. You can proceed with the following steps to request registration and funding assistance.

Contact us with your CVVRS Case Manager’s contact information or have your Case Manager contact us directly for assistance. We will need confirmation that CVVRS has approved your specified course(s).
Provide us with the BCIT course name(s) and note the Course Reference Number (CRN). Please note if there are any course registration approvals required by the department prior to registration.
You will receive an email from us once you are registered. You can then proceed to submit your claim form to CVVRS with proof of registration.

Registration in part-time courses can fill up quickly. It is recommended to request registration early to secure a seat in your chosen course option. Please refer to upcoming Flexible Learning registration dates.
