BCIT Alumni make a difference
As a BCIT graduate you know firsthand the benefits of a BCIT education and the difference BCIT has in someone's life. By donating to the Alumni Annual Fund, you can help more students graduate with job-ready skills to have rewarding careers and contribute to the quality of life in our communities.Every gift has an impact on student life at BCIT.
Why we need your help
Supporting students in needAlumni donations provide much needed assistance to students in financial need. Your donation can help provide a bursary to a student who needs additional support to complete their education.
Last year, thanks to the support of donors, BCIT gave bursaries to 1,247 students. But we couldn’t help an additional 315 students who applied for help.
Your gift can make all the difference in the life of a student.
“My financial situation at home is very tight and this bursary will undoubtedly aid me in paying for my tuition. As a result, this will allow me to focus on the more important aspect of school, learning.
Once again, I offer my sincerest gratitude for your generous support. You have helped me to get one step closer to my career goal. I hope in the future I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” - Bursary recipient
Improving classrooms and study areas
Alumni can also help improve classrooms and learning areas by funding projects like improvements to equipment, helping ensure students learn in modern environments that reflect today's workplace.
Alumni gifts have funded essential projects like the Smart Learning Spaces - a 5-year initiative to improve the quality of learning spaces by equipping rooms with new audio-visual and educational technology.
The goal is to increase the number of "Smart" spaces at BCIT from 10% to over 25% of the total 1,200 teaching and learning spaces.
To date 350 spaces have been completed, some thanks to the generous support of donations from alumni and employees
More than technology, these rooms are where our students from all schools and programs develop the skills and knowledge they need to establish rewarding careers and help make our communities a better place to live.
