I am still in high school. Can I write the assessment to qualify for a program?

Yes. We often recommend high school students to write the assessment as a means to meet program entry requirements when transcripts are unavailable. For more information, see BCIT programs.

What programs or courses can I use the results for?

With a few exceptions, the Trades Entry Assessment is acceptable for all BCIT Trades and Apprenticeship courses. See BCIT programs for more information on specific program entrance requirements.

I lost my receipt. Can I get another one?

Yes, log into the secure student information system or myBCIT to print out another receipt or save a copy of the electronic receipt to your phone or tablet.

What mark do I need in order to pass?

The passing score varies by program. It is determined by the difficulty and volume of that subject required in your trade program.

What is the validity period?

The validity period of the result varies for each program. Please contact Program Advising or Admissions for more information.

Can I take the assessment again? When?

One re-write may be attempted in any term. If you do not pass the re-write, you must wait a minimum of three months to re-write.

Note: Applicants to the Fixed-Wing or Rotary-Wing option of the Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot Program: If you do not pass the re-write, you may not attempt to re-write the assessment until the next application year.
