Effective Immediately: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students must now book an appointment to write their assessment(s) at the Trades Learning Centre. After registering and paying for your assessment(s), please go to our Assessment Session Booking page and select an available appointment date and time based on how many assessments you are writing (single or multiple). Once you have booked your appointment, please review our Assessment Session FAQs [PDF]. If you have any questions, please contact trades_assessment@bcit.ca.

The English assessment contains questions about readings that are similar in style to readings in trades training textbooks, manuals, and handouts. Diagrams, charts, tables, and short and long reading passages are presented. No prior knowledge of the content is assumed or required.
