Lorna A. Pawluk is an Associate Council with Bernard & Partners.
Lorna’s practice focuses exclusively on occupational health and safety and workplace safety matters for employers. This includes any matter arising from compliance with provincial and federal occupational health and safety legislation, including regulatory, employment and human rights matters.
Active in her community, Ms. Pawluk is member of the Board of Directors of the College of Massage Therapists of BC and Chair, Inquiry Committee; Chair, National Administrative Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association; and Vice Chair, Liberal Women’s Network, British Columbia Liberal Party. Lorna is also on the Board of Directors of the Employers’ Forum, a non-profit organization representing employers in matters relating to the British Columbia workers’ compensation system.
Lorna, as chair of the Inquiry Committee of CMTBC, chairs panels under section 35 of the Health Professions Act and meetings of the Inquiry Committee which is charged with investigations under the Health Professions Act and Massage Therapists Regulation. She also investigates harassment and bullying complaints for private clients and has been an adjudicator with the Employment Standards Tribunal and Appeal Division of WorkSafeBC. She has also been legal counsel to the Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Council and has been in private practice where she practiced employer side labour/employment law. She is also past chair of the Administrative Law Section (Vancouver) of the Canadian Bar Association in BC and a past columnist in Canadian Occupational Safety magazine. Lorna frequently speaks to large groups about occupational health and safety and related issues.
Ms. Pawluk is a Certified Mediator and holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws from University of Alberta, and a Master of Laws from University of British Columbia.
