Food for Thought: Preparing our Students for Life in an AI-influenced World

March 5 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm PST

Strategies for Teaching Their Most-Human Qualities

Presented by: Erika Ram

Location: in the Library Summit Centre & Via Teams

Description: As educators, our role extends beyond teaching how to use AI tools; it involves nurturing the human qualities that set students apart from machines. This workshop explores ways to scaffold students’ cognitive, emotional, and social skills through intentional design. We’ll look at strategies to nurture their critical human qualities so that they can understand the nuances between AI’s capabilities and limitations, empowering them to think constructively and incorporate AI into their tool sets ethically and responsibly. Leave with a framework, example activities, and a guide to implement in your own classroom.
