Q & A

Why did you choose the BCIT computing program to launch your IT career?
Brian: BCIT was recommended to me by a friend of mine in the IT industry. I had already been out of high school for 10 years, so being able to earn an income within two years at BCIT vs. four+ years at a university was a big factor for me.
How do you feel BCIT training has helped you prepare to launch your own business?
Richard: BCIT provides specific hands-on knowledge for computing professionals, allowing graduates to enter multiple fields within the industry: programming, testing, documentation, analysis, design, support, even project management. The skills I developed at BCIT went far beyond just writing code or creating websites. I learned how to manage complex IT projects, and work with development teams as well as large companies. The BCIT CST program laid the foundations of knowledge I needed to be successful in every role I’ve subsequently filled in my IT career.
