L-R: Student Victor Kong, Associate Dean Terry Knudson, student Mike Dimambro, Chief Instructor Randy James and Instructor Kirksal Icoz.

Congratulations to Mike Dimambro and Victor Kong, both second-year Computer Information Systems Technician Program students at BCIT, who, as a team, competed and earned the much-coveted position of finalist in the NetRiders 2009 Skills Challenge, hosted by Cisco Networking Academy of Canada/USA. They, along with top teams from across the US and Canada, vied for top spot in the final round of the competition on Nov. 20 via WebEx.

While the team didn't clinch the finals, the students were tops in BC, representing our province in the competition.

The competition is open to post-secondary students enrolled in Cisco Certified Network Associate curriculum within the past six months across the US and Canada. It consists of three rounds: Inter-School, Provincial and Theatre-Wide. The students work in teams of two, beginning each round with an online multiple-choice exam, and following up with Packet Tracer activities.
