Using your U-Pass BC
Your U-Pass BC provides you with unlimited use of Bus, SkyTrain and SeaBus services within Metro Vancouver, 7 days per week for the whole month. Your U-Pass BC also provides discounts on West Coast Express travel. Learn more about the services, routes and schedules of TransLink and West Coast Express.
Once you have your U-Pass BC:
- Your name must be written on the back of your U-Pass BC - exactly as it appears on your BCIT Student ID card.
- Do not write your preferred or nickname on your U-Pass BC.
- Carry your BCIT Student ID card with your U-Pass BC at all times when using transit or while you are in a fare-paid zone.
- The U-Pass BC card is valid only when signed and presented with valid student ID.
Be aware of the following:
- TransLink has designed the U-Pass BC card with built-in security features to help minimize fraudulent use of the pass.
- The pass is the property of TransLink.
- Do not alter it in any way.
- Do not laminate your U-Pass BC in order to protect it.
- Transit staff will not be able to validate its authenticity if it has been laminated or otherwise altered. Your card may be confiscated as a result.
BCIT will not issue replacements for cards that have been confiscated.
- The U-Pass BC card is not transferable.
- Lending, giving or selling your U-Pass BC card to another person, or attempting to use another person’s U-Pass BC card is an offense.
- The U-Pass BC card cannot be replicated or duplicated and can only be used by the student it was issued to.
- Keep both your BCIT Student ID card and your U-Pass BC card safe - protect them the same way you protect other forms of identification and your cash.
BCIT will not issue replacements for cards that have been lost.
