Justice Institute of BC and the Fire & Safety Training Centre

BCIT Marine campus, in cooperation with the Justice Institute of BC (JIBC), offers training in marine firefighting at the Fire & Safety Training Centre (JIBC-FSTC) in Maple Ridge, BC.

Facilities at the JIBC-FSTC include classrooms, a ship mock-up, railway tank cars, firefighting training pads, a smoke house, pumper truck, road trailers, oil and chemical spill simulations.

The Academy of Emergency Training

You will learn Marine Basic and Advanced First Aid - one of the many requirements to work in the marine industry - at the Academy of Emergency Training.

Princess Cruises

The BCIT Marine campus maintains a strong partnership with Princess Cruises, providing Princess with deck and engineering officers through Marine Engineering and Nautical Sciences Diploma of Technical Studies programs. After a successful interview, students are offered berths on Princess ships to complete all levels of mandatory sea phases.

Upon graduation from the program, many successful students become full-time officers in Princess’ fleet.
