European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Approved Training and Exams
BCIT is a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Part-147 school to perform aircraft maintenance training and to conduct all EASA modular exams in the following categories:
Category A - Maintenance Certifying Mechanic
Category A licence holder issues certificate of release to service minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification.
- A1 Turbine Aeroplanes
- A2 Piston Aeroplanes
- A3 Turbine Helicopters
- A4 Piston Helicopters
Category B1 - Maintenance Certifying Technician (Mechanical)
Category B1 licence holder issues certificate of release to service maintenance on aircraft structure, power plants and mechanical and electrical systems.

- B1.2 Piston Aeroplanes
- B1.3 Turbine Helicopters
- B1.4 Piston Helicopters
B1 courses will be scheduled on demand.
Category B2 Avionics - Maintenance Certifying Technician (Avionic)
Category B2 licence holder issues certificate of release to service maintenance on avionic and electrical systems.
Category B licence holder performs defect diagnosis, system rectification and inspection, which require more detailed knowledge than that for a Category A licence holder. Category B exams will therefore test students at a higher level of knowledge than Category A exams.
