Introduces the hierarchy of workplace hazard controls- engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment. Examines in detail workplace sanitation and personal facilities, safety through design, lighting and ventilation systems, materials handling, basic electrical safety, lockout and de-energization, personal protective equipment, lift trucks and fall protection. Explains how to successfully eliminate or reduce the risks associated with a variety of work processes. (3.0 Credits)

This is a Re-Registration course for students, who in the previous Winter 2013 Term, did not complete their blended Distance Learning course (paper-based with a D2L online component). Re-Registration is a one-time option to extend for another 12-week term at a reduced tuition fee. Course work submitted in the Winter Term will be retained; you are ONLY required to submit outstanding course work. Weekly tutor support (via e-mail and/or phone) is included. Upon Re-Registration, expect to receive a confirmation e-mail entitled “OCHS 2320 - Spring Term - Course Information from BCIT”.
