An upgrading course for students who have not completed high school mathematics, or who completed it more than three years ago, or whose math background is otherwise weak. Meets Principles of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12 requirements for BCIT Engineering Technology, Health Science or Computer Systems Technology programs. Technology programs which require a grade 12 math with a C+ or better must achieve a final mark of 65% or higher in Math 0001. This course is equivalent to Math 0005 offered with the TE school program. Math 0005 accepts part-time studies enrolment, space permitting. (0.0 Credits)

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
Use the rules for approximate number calculations.
Convert and reduce units.
Operate with signed numbers.
Manipulate and simplify algebraic expressions.
Solve simple, quadratic and simultaneous linear equations.
Solve problems using algebraic variation.
Apply mensuration formula to solve geometric problems.
Solve geometric problems using Pythagoras' Theory and similar triangles.
Graph simple algebraic functions.
Use the fundamental laws of logarithms to solve exponential and logarithmic problems.
