COMP 1955 - Introduction to Web Interface Design

This course follows on from COMP 1850 and introduces students to practical methods for creating graphics and user interfaces for web sites. Students will learn how to plan and design screen layouts, with a focus on user-centered design. Topics include: site prototyping, navigation, designing screen widgets, typography, interaction design, graphic production and optimization techniques and usability issues. Students will use industry standard tools to plan, design and implement a web site interface. The class is designed for individuals with some web authoring or basic HTML experience who wish to add polished, functional elements to their web projects. Prerequisite: COMP 1850 or equivalent HTML experience.
